Snacking and salads are primary uses. Quick History – Galas originated in New Zealand and were introduced to the market in 1965. A cross between Cox’s Orange Pippin and Golden Delicious, Gala was developed by New Zealand plant breeders. Availability - Gala harvest begins in the middle of August and lasts through early September. Galas are available in-store September to May. |
